Increasing Assertiveness to Improve Communication with Jennie Steinberg
August 9, 2017 | 6:00 pm-8:00 pm
Do you ever find that when you try to communicate a need, you're misunderstood, overlooked, or met with anger or defensiveness? The way you're received is frequently related to the way in which you choose to communicate.
In this talk, we will explore the three ways to approach communication: aggressive, passive, and assertive, and discuss why assertiveness is the sweet spot! We will also look at how to manage the anger that drives aggression and the nervousness that causes a lot of people to be more passive, and empower you to speak up for yourself while respecting the other person’s perspective and feelings.
